Molecules are very small particles that make up all living and non-living things. They are much smaller than cells and organelles, but they are extremely important.
Inside the human body, molecules build all cell structures and help cells work properly. Molecules take part in breathing, digestion, movement, and energy production.
A molecule is made of two or more atoms joined together. For example, a water molecule consists of hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
In the body, molecules have different functions:
1. Some carry oxygen and nutrients.
2. Some store energy.
3. Some build cell structures.
4. Some help chemical reactions happen.
Many important biological molecules are found inside cells. These include sugars, fats, and amino acids.
Molecules are the next level of organization after organelles. They connect the microscopic world of cells with the chemical world of atoms.
