Solomon is a story about wisdom, judgment, and the importance of faithfulness to God.

Solomon
Solomon, the wise king

Solomon was the son of King David and became king of Israel after his father. He is best known for his great wisdom.

When Solomon became king, God asked him what he wanted most. Solomon did not ask for riches or power — he asked for wisdom to rule the people fairly.

God was pleased with this request and gave him great wisdom, along with wealth and honor.

Solomon became famous for his wise judgments. One of the most well-known stories tells how he solved a difficult case between two women who both claimed to be the mother of the same child.

Solomon also built the Temple in Jerusalem, a beautiful and holy place where people could worship God. People from many countries came to hear Solomon’s wisdom.

However, later in his life, Solomon made mistakes. He turned away from God by following other gods.

Because of this, the kingdom would later be divided after his death.

Solomon’s story teaches the value of wisdom, but also warns that knowledge and success mean nothing without faithfulness to God.
