Parable of the Ten Virgins

Wisdom means being ready at the right time.

Jesus told a story about ten young women waiting for a bridegroom. Five were wise and brought extra oil for their lamps. Five were foolish and did not.

When the bridegroom arrived, the wise were ready and went in with him. The foolish were not ready and were left outside.

Through this parable, Jesus taught that wisdom is preparing before the moment comes.
