Parable of the Talents

Jesus teaches about responsibility and wisdom

Wisdom means using what you are given, not hiding it out of fear.

Jesus told a story about a master who gave money to his servants before leaving on a journey.

One servant received five talents, another received two, and the third received one.

The first two servants worked and doubled what they were given. The third servant was afraid and hid his talent in the ground.

When the master returned, he praised the servants who used their talents. But he was unhappy with the servant who hid his.

Through this parable, Jesus taught that wisdom is acting responsibly and making good use of what we are given.
